The US-UK-Australia nuclear submarine cooperation (AUKUS) poses a serious risk of nuclear proliferation. Li Song, Permanent Representative of China to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said in his speech at the IAEA Board of Governors meeting on Friday.

Li Song said the AUKUS cooperation is promoting an arms race and undermining peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region. It is being questioned and rejected by many countries in the region and the international community. China called on the United States, Britain and Australia to abandon the cold war mentality and zero-sum game, faithfully honor their international commitments and contribute more to regional peace and stability.
