U.K. equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Automobiles & Parts, Beverage and Tobacco sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were St. James’s Place PLC (LON:SJP), which rose 3.75% or 23.20 points to trade at 641.60 at the close. ITV PLC (LON:ITV) added 2.38% or 1.48 points to end at 63.68 and EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) was up 2.28% or 8.30 points to 372.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO), which lost 4.16% or 20.10 points to trade at 462.70 in late trade. HSBC Holdings PLC (LON:HSBA) declined 2.28% or 13.70 points to end at 587.30 and NatWest Group PLC (LON:NWG) shed 2.12% or 3.85 points to 178.15.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 981 to 635 and 499 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.42% or 8.45 to $2,006.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 4.00% or 3.42 to hit $82.12 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.48% or 3.10 to trade at $86.10 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.21, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 106.08.
